Have you joined CASP yet?
The time to do it is now!!!
The California Association of School Psychologists (CASP), is an organization of over 3,000. OCASP is an affiliate of CASP. CASP advocates at the state and national levels on our behalf. CASP relies on memberships for financial support among others. However, CASP has experienced some declines in membership. This is disheartening, particularly because CASP does so much for all School Psychologists even when we are not aware. For this reason, OCASP is strongly advocating and encouraging members and non-members to join CASP.
What are the benefits of being a CASP member? As a CASP member, you receive/have access to the following:
Without your support, CASP will not be able to advocate for the profession in an effective manner as they have been doing all these years. Join with OCASP and support CASP in their efforts on our behalf. Join CASP now!!! Log on to http://www.casponline.org/.
The CASP 2009 Winter Conference will be held locally at Loyola-Marymount University in Los Angeles. There is also a workshop being offered in Sacramento and Fresno. CASP is offering both Live and WebCasts Workshops, which makes it convenient for those who aren't able to travel. WebCasts Workshops will be archived and available in January.
OCASP President, Vhenus, and Past-President & Region IX Board Member, Dr. Pedro Olvera will join efforts and present a WebCast session on Surviving Your First Year As A School Psychologist. The workshop will be held on Friday, December 4th.
CASP offers various workshops to keep you abreast of current trends in this dynamic field. Among other objectives, CASP is invested in facilitating school psychologists to keep up-to-date on information. Attending CASP not only allows you to learn about the latest trends, but it also allows you to show your support for what they do for you.
Visit http://www.casponline.org/ for more information on the conference.
We look forward to seeing you there!!!
